Current Opinion in Lipidology (2017.02)

The journal "Current Opinion in Lipidology" recently brought a commentary about the study "Loss of Function of GALNT2 Lowers High-Density Lipoproteins in Humans, Nonhuman Primates, and Rodents" which was published in Cell Metabolism in 2016. The study was a collaboration between University of Pennsylvania, Copenhagen Center for Glycomics and several other research institutions, and demonstrated how the GALNT2 gene encoding GalNAc-Transferase 2 affects high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), a biomarker of cardiovascular disease.
