New study reveals a link between presence of the T antigen and macrophage invasion
Ida Bohse Larsen, Sergey Vakhrushev and Henrik Clausen from Copenhagen Center for Glycomics recently published a study in collaboration with researchers from Austria and UK demonstrating that attachment of a sugar structure known as the T antigen to proteins may promote cancer cell migration and invasion. The paper with the title "A conserved major facilitator superfamily member orchestrates a subset of O-glycosylation to aid macrophage tissue invasion" was published in eLife on March 26, 2019 and described in the eLife commentary "Bittersweet migrations".
